Charlie Mix and Nyssa Hunt (IGTLab) have received $2,553 from the Limestone Valley Resource Conservation and Development Council for the project entitled, “GIS Conservation Priority Modeling for the Etowah River Watershed.”
Dr. Nikolasa Tejero (Music) has requested and received $3,072 from Great River Learning for the project entitled, “Support for Publication: Introduction to Music.”

Dr. Amir Alakaam (Health & Human Performance) has requested $17,464 from the Alliance of Women Philanthropists – Giving Circle for the project entitled, “Breastfeeding Support for Tennessee Mothers: A Community Based Intervention.”
Drs. Jose Barbosa (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science), Sandra Affare (Mechanical Engineering), Melissa Powell, and Marissa McElrone (Health & Human Performance) have requested $72,797 from the National Institute of Food and Agriculture for the project entitled, “Agriculture and Nutrition for Girls while Encouraging Leadership (ANGELS).”
Drs. Amy Brock-Hon, Ashley Manning-Berg, Deanna Beasley, Henry Spratt (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science), Tatiana Allen (Chemistry and Physics), Soubantika Palchoudhury (Civil and Chemical Engineering), and Morgan Smith (Social, Cultural, and Justice Studies) have requested $887,211 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “MRI: Acquisition of an Environmental SEM for Interdisciplinary Research and Training of the Next Generation of Scientists.”
Nyssa Hunt (IGTLab) has requested $377 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service for the project entitled, “Land Between the Lakes Regional Water Trails Map – Update.”
Drs. Hamdy Ibrahim, Trevor Elliott, Mohammad Mahtabi (Mechanical Engineering), Michael Danquah, Sungwoo Yang (Civil and Chemical Engineering), and Eleni Panagiotou (Mathematics) have requested $392,200 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “MRI: Acquisition of a Customized Metal Additive Manufacturing System for Multidisciplinary Research Activities.”
Drs. Yu Liang, Yingfeng Wang, Dalei Wu (Computer Science and Engineering) and Zibin Guo (Social, Cultural, and Justice Studies) have requested $1,197,530 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “SCH: Using Graph-based Motion Analysis to Promote Physical Activity.”
Charlie Mix and Nyssa Hunt (IGTLab) have requested $19,999 from Tennessee Valley Authority for a collaborative project with UTK entitled, “Tennessee River Line Spatial Analysis.”
Drs. Mbakisya Onyango, Michael Danquah, Ignatius Fomunung, Joseph Owino (Civil and Chemical Engineering), Deanna Beasley (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science), Christopher Cox (Mathematics), Jennifer Ellis (School of Education), and Gretchen Potts (Chemistry and Physics) have requested $9,612,556 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “NSF INCLUDES Alliance: BRIDGE – BRoadening Inclusion on Diversity and Gender Equity.”
Dr. Han Jung Park (Chemistry and Physics) has requested $9,920 from the Society for Analytic Chemists of Pittsburgh for the project entitled, “Photoacoustic detection of nicotine in E-cigarettes.”
Drs. Hong Qin, Mengjun Xie, Li Yang (National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense) and Daniel Pack (Electrical Engineering) have requested $149,999 from the National Security Agency Central Security Service for the project entitled, “Security and Trustworthiness in Artificial Intelligence (AI) DoD Partnership: Community Outreach to ROTC and Lab Development.”
Drs. Hong Qin and Mengjun Xie (National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense) have requested $207,919 from the National Security Agency Central Security Service for the project entitled, “DoD CySP Basic Recruitment.”
Drs. Mina Sartipi (CUIP), Gary Wilkerson, Marisa Colston, and Eric Hungenberg (Health & Human Performance) have requested $21,152 from College Sports Evaluation for the project entitled, “Flanker Test App and Database.”
Drs. Mina Sartipi (CUIP), Farah Kandah, Dalei Wu (Computer Science and Engineering), Osama Osman (Civil and Chemical Engineering), Don Reising (Electrical Engineering), and Reinhold Mann (Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research) have requested $1,521,520 from the National Science Foundation for the project entitled, “CCRI: New: RUI: Testbed as-a Service: A Sandbox for Fostering Smart and Connected City Research & Development.”
Dr. Anthony Skjellum, Michael Ward (SIMCenter), and Dr. Daniel Loveless (Electrical Engineering) have requested $1,630,316 from the National Science Foundation – Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering for the project entitled, “Collaborative Research: CCRI: New: RUI: Heterogeneous Cluster Architecture for Performant, Predictable, Portable Parallel Programming Research at Exascale.”
Drs. Kidambi Sreenivas and Jim Newman (Mechanical Engineering) have requested $700,064 from the University of Dayton Research Institute for the project entitled, “Design of Resilient Hypersonic Vehicle Structures.”
