Greetings, faculty!
Please see the list of announcements, funding opportunities, and other resources below.
Announcements
- The entire Research division, including ORSP, will be in a mandatory retreat all day this Friday, February 10, and will not be responding to emails or phone calls until we return to the office on Monday, February 13. Thank you in advance for your patience and flexibility.
Funding Opportunity Reminders
- Alliance of Women Philanthropists – The UT Alliance of Women Philanthropists is now accepting applications from UT faculty, staff, departments, students, and student organizations for the 2023-2024 Circle of Giving Grants Cycle. Proposed projects can be a new project or program that benefits the campus or an expansion of an existing program. Winning programs should provide opportunities that inspire leadership and collaboration within the UT Community. The grant request may range from $2,500 – $25,000, but cannot include faculty salaries or overhead. Please notify ORSP by Tuesday, February 14, if you intend to apply for this grant cycle. We can help you prepare the required budget and ensure all application materials are in compliance with the guidelines. Applications must be submitted in Cayuse SP by February 20, 2023.
- Fly for Researchers: The Fly for Researchers Pitch Competition is available in InfoReady Review through February 28, 2023. UTC faculty, staff and graduate students from all colleges are invited to apply to pitch ideas that have the potential to be commercialized or licensed. An information session will be held on February 15 from 3-4pm. Contact jennifer-skjellum@utc.edu with questions.

- DOE’s Office of Science is now Accepting Applications for the Office of Science Graduate Student Research Awards 2023, which provides supplemental funding to graduate students to conduct a portion of their thesis research at a DOE-funded national laboratory. With Oak Ridge National Laboratory just down the road, this is an excellent opportunity for your graduate students to consider. See more information at https://science.osti.gov/wdts/scgsr.
- Federal agencies and the Department of Energy Office of Science and Technology Policy have released the Roadmap for Researchers on Priorities Related to Information Integrity Research and Development.
