Announcements
- ORSP is excited to announce a new Bookings page as an additional option for scheduling meetings with pre-award team members. Click here to schedule a time to meet with a grant specialist for one of the following services. You can read more about these services and others at our Pre-Award Services page.
- Individual Strategic Funding Plans – Meet with an ORSP grant specialist to plan out a 3-5 year funding plan to meet your research goals. This service is perfect for new faculty and tenured faculty who are investigating a new research area. Need help looking for funding for a specific project instead? We can help with that, too!
- SciENcv Consultations – The use of SciENcv for developing personnel documentation will be required beginning October 23. The requirement will apply to proposals to NSF and to any other agency requiring the use of NSF forms, such as DOE and DOD. Resources and help guides are available on our webpage here. If you have trouble getting set up or creating the documents, schedule a SciENcv consultation and one of our grant specialists will be glad to walk you through it.
- Cayuse Consultations – Cayuse is the system we use to route proposals internally for approvals. Resources and help guides are available on our webpage here. If you have questions about how to fill out the screens, schedule a Cayuse consultation and one of our grant specialists will be glad to walk you through it.
- General Consultations – Have a question that doesn’t fit into one of the other categories? Schedule a general meeting instead.
- NIH will be hosting a webinar on the two R15 programs from 2:30-3:30 on June 15, 2023. The R15 program is an ideal fit for UTC researchers, as eligibility is limited to institutions who are not heavily NIH-funded. Click here to view the agenda and register to attend.
Funding Opportunities
REMINDER – Open Publishing Support Fund
Co-sponsored by ORSP and the UTC Library, the Open Publishing Support Fund covers article processing charges levied by peer-reviewed, open access journals. Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis to a maximum of $2,500 per request. Click here to preview the eligibility criteria and apply for support. Sponsored Projects Policy Spotlight: Travel
The revised UT Travel Policy, effective today (June 1), is available at https://finance.tennessee.edu/travel/. This policy provides information on current university travel regulations including reimbursement rates for in-state and out-of-state travel, travel fiscal policy, information on international travel, travel forms, and mileage reimbursement rates. Note that with sponsored program budgets, the most restrictive policy, be it the sponsor’s or UT’s, always applies. The ORSP Pre-Award team can help you determine which policy to follow for your proposal budget.
