Greetings, faculty!
Please see the list of announcements, funding opportunities, and resources below.
Announcements
- Congratulations on making it to the end of the spring semester! The summer is an excellent time to plan out your proposal writing activities for the next 12+ months. Pivot can help! Pivot is a searchable database of funding opportunities, potential collaborators and calls for papers. The database is user-friendly and has features that allow you to search by subject keywords, eligibility and deadline. As UTC faculty, you already have access, but creating an account will allow you to save searches and receive weekly bulletins with funding opportunities meeting your search criteria. See ORSP’s webpage for help guides and tutorials and, as always, feel free to reach out to a member of the ORSP Pre-award team with questions.
- The Spring 2023 NSF Virtual Grants Conferencewill be held during the week of June 5 – 8, 2023. This is an excellent resource for faculty who are new to NSF, but there will also be sessions of interest to NSF aficionados. Click here to view the agenda and register to attend. Sessions will also be recorded for those who cannot attend.

Sponsored Projects Policy Spotlight
Sponsored Projects Policy FI0235 lays out the policies defining program income and the procedures for using it. Curious what is and isn’t considered program income? It’s all in this policy! Note that most federal agencies have additional restrictions on when program income is allowed and how it can be used. The most restrictive policy always applies.
Best,
Ashley Ledford,
Director of Pre-Award Services
