Announcements
- NASA’s Science Mission Directorate is seeking subject matter experts to serve as external and/or virtual panel reviewers of proposals to the “ROSES” research solicitation. Click here to learn more and submit a reviewer interest form for your discipline.
- The NSF biosketch and current and pending support forms must now be prepared using SciENcv. The fillable PDF formats will no longer be accepted. Having trouble getting set up in SciENcv? Help guides are available on ORSP’s webpage here. You can also schedule a consultation with a grant specialist here.
- NSF will be hosting their Fall 2023 Virtual Grants Conference during the week of December 4 – 7, 2023. Registration is free and opens on Wednesday, November 8 at 12 pm ET. In the meantime, please check out nsfpolicyoutreach.com for the most up-to-date information and view recordings of sessions from previous conferences.
- NIH has revised its grant review process, effective January 25, 2025. Click here to read the new review criteria.
Funding Opportunities
- The US Department of Energy is accepting pre-applications for the Environmental System Science (ESS) program. See the FOA for more details. Pre-applications are required and must be submitted by ORSP. The deadline for pre-applications is 5pm on November 29, 2023. An individual may serve as PI on only 1 pre-application in response to this FOA. Please notify ORSP by November 13 if you are interested in submitting a pre-application to this opportunity.
- NSF has released a new solicitation for the Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) program, with minor adjustments to the funding and program requirements. The ENG and CISE directorates support this program. See the full solicitation here for more details. The next RET Site proposal deadline is January 29, 2024. Please notify ORSP by November 27 if you are interested in submitting a proposal to this deadline.
- NSF has released a new solicitation for the Secure and Trustworthy Cyberspace (SaTC) program, with additional topics of interest and minor adjustments to the program requirements. See the full solicitation here for more details. There is no deadline to apply. Please notify ORSP at least 8 weeks before you plan to submit a proposal.
Sponsored Projects Policy Spotlight: NSF Sexual Harassment Reporting Terms & Conditions
NSF’s policy requires that institutions report harassment and/or assault involving NSF-funded PIs and/or Co-PIs. This term & condition covers sexual harassment, other forms of harassment, and sexual assault. Other forms of harassment include but are not limited to harassment based on ethnicity, race, or disability. UTC’s process for adhering to this requirement, as well as information on how to report harassment to UTC and NSF can be found here.
