Announcements
- Congratulations on making it to the end of the spring semester! As we move into summer, ORSP will transition to bi-monthly email updates through May, June, and July. While you will see fewer emails from us through the faculty listserv, ORSP will maintain normal operating hours throughout the summer, and we look forward to continuing to work with you on all your pre- and post-award activities.
- NIH RECOVER has made de-identified long COVID data from more than 14,000 adults available to researchers. Learn more here. Because some datasets still require IRB approval, please contact ORI at irb@utc.edu if you are interested in requesting access to this data.
- NSF by the Numbers offers dynamic dashboards for awards, NSF-funded institutions, funding rates and more. Explore the new site here.
Funding Opportunities
If you are interested in applying to any of the opportunities below, please notify ORSP at least 4-6 weeks in advance of the deadline. Proposals with fewer than 5 business days notice may face barriers to submission. More information about ORSP’s proposal development timeline and services is available here.

| NSF Research Experiences for Teachers in Engineering and Computer Science | October 9, 2024 | An individual may serve as PI or co-PI on only one RET site proposal per annual deadline. The PI must have a tenured or tenure-track faculty appointment within an engineering, engineering technology, or computer science department. |
| NSF Mathematical Foundations of Artificial Intelligence | October 10, 2024 | An individual may serve as PI or co-PI on only one MFAI proposal per deadline. |
| NSF Molecular Foundations for Sustainability: Sustainable Polymers Enabled by Emerging Data Analytics program (MFS-SPEED) | LOI: December 5, 2024 | Proposal teams must include at least two PIs, one with data science expertise. An individual may only serve as a PI, co-PI or Senior Personnel on only one proposal, including as sub-awardee personnel. LOIs are required, but will not be reviewed. |
Sponsored Projects Policy Spotlight: Salaries on Sponsored Projects
Sponsored Projects Policy FI0207 lays out the policies and procedures for charging salaries to sponsored projects.
