Announcements
- ORSP will be closed for winter break December 22 – 26 and January 1-2. We will be open and available at reduced capacity December 29 – 31. We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and a happy start to the new year.
- TheNational Endowment for the Arts has released the FY27 Grants for Arts Projects NOFO. UTC is limited to 1 proposal per calendar year, and due to the potential deadline in February, a quick internal selection competition is being held. See the details in the Limited Submission Competitions section below.
- NSF has issued a request for information from the research community for its proposed Tech Labs Initiative. Responses will be accepted via email to [email protected] until 3pm EST on January 20, 2026. Responses do not need to be reviewed by ORSP prior to submission. A Q&A session will be held on January 14; register to learn more.
- The UTC Journey Health Foundation Research Center (JHFRC) will host its inaugural Data Summit on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. This event will introduce JHFRC’s data hub and dashboard and feature presentations from affiliated UTC faculty/staff and community partners. Click here to register. - Federal agencies will begin requiring Persistent Identifiers (PIDs) in proposal applications over 2026 and 2027. Creating an ORCID is one of the easiest ways to satisfy the PID requirement and can be imported directly into Digital Measures. Be on the lookout for training opportunities in spring 2026. In the meantime, learn more about ORCID here.
- NSF has announced an organizational realignment. The Directorates and NSF’s overall research areas remain the same; however, changes within each Directorate will be announced in the coming weeks and months. See the message from the Mathematical and Physical Sciences Directorate here. You can sign up for email notifications from the Directorate that best aligns with your research area by visiting the Directorate’s main webpage: BIO, CISE, EDU, ENG, GEO, MPS, SBE, and TIP.
