Greetings, faculty!
Please see the list of announcements, funding opportunities, and resources below. Archives of previous updates are available on ORSP’s blog.
General Announcements
- ORSP’s last day of operations is this Friday (December 20). We’ll reopen with campus on January 2. We wish you all a happy holiday season and look forward to working with you in the new year!
- With the transition to DASH Financial in January, the UT System has established negotiated fringe benefits rates (similar to how we have a negotiated indirect cost rate). In the DASH financial system, fringe benefits will be charged to active sponsored project awards based on these negotiated rates. In anticipation of this change, ORSP has begun budgeting for sponsored project proposals using these negotiated fringe rates. FAQs are available on ORSP’s budgeting webpage.
Sponsor Announcements
- As federal agencies move forward with the adoption of the common forms for the biosketch and CPS, some agencies, such as NIH, will start requiring investigators to have an ORCID. Learn more about the requirement and NIH’s timetable for enforcement here.
- NIH has reissued the R15 AREA and REAP programs (see below). Register here for a live webinar on January 30 about the program and recent changes.

If you are interested in applying to any of the opportunities below, please notify ORSP at least 4-6 weeks in advance of the deadline. Proposals withfewer than 5 business days notice may face barriers to submission. More information about ORSP’s proposal development timeline and services is available here.

Sponsored Projects Policy Spotlight: Conflicts of Interest
Changes are coming to the Outside Interest Disclosure process. The new Conflict of Interest (COI) certification process will go live January 6, 2025. Annual disclosure will occur in September 2025, but if you are participating in a proposal and did not complete a new OID form by the December 13 cutoff date, you will need to submit a COI form in DASH prior to the proposal submission. Stay tuned for more details and training opportunities in January 2025!
