Drs. Kristen Black and Christopher Cunningham (Psychology) have requested and received $49,870 for Applied Industry Research – Employee Survey
Drs. Ricki Dierenfeldt, Tammy Garland, Christina Policastro, and Courtney Crittenden (Social, Cultural, and Justice Studies) have received $50,000 from the Tennessee Department of Human Services for the project entitled, “Drug Abuse and Recovery in Rural Communities: A Needs Assessment.”
Dr. Charles Margraves (Engineering Mechanical) has received $14,225 from the Healthy House Check Lab Inc. (HHC Lab) for the project entitled, ” Sensor System to Evaluate Air Quality Inside and Outside of a Residential Building.”
Drs. Anthony Skjellum (SimCenter) and Craig Tanis (Computer Science and Engineering) have requested and received $49,999 from the Sandia National Lab for the project entitled, “Systems Software Performance and Optimization on Emerging Scalable Platforms.”

Drs. Michael Danquah and Soubantika Palchoudhury (Civil and Chemical Engineering) have requested $136,513 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the project entitled, “Multifunctional Antimicrobial Nanoforumlation for Enhanced Food Packaging During Disaster Management.”
Dr. Michael Danquah (Civil and Chemical Engineering) has requested $122,845 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the project entitled, “One-Step Detection of Opiates in Saliva for Rapid Screening of Drivers at Checkpoints.”
Drs. Preston Foerder (Psychology), Hope Klug (Biology, Geology, and Environmental Science), and Farah Kandah (Computer Science and Engineering) have requested $134,205 from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development for the project entitled, “A Human-Animal Interactive Video Therapy System.”

Ignatius Fomunung, Jejal Reddy Bathi (Civil and Chemical Engineering) and Alexandr Sokolov (Engineering Management & Technology) have requested $192,321 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the project entitled, “A Framework for Quantitative Assessment of the Environmental, Social, and Economic Benefits of TDOT Infrastructure Projects.”
Drs. Seong Dae Kim, Endong Wang, and Alexandr Sokolov (Engineering Management & Technology) have requested $194,897 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the project entitled, “Rapid emergency evacuation planning/assessment for tourist attractions and isolated communities.”
Drs. Reinhold Mann (VC Research), Mina Sartipi (CUIP), Beverly Brockman, and Ms. Libby Santin (Marketing) have requested $217,401 via a partnership with The Company Lab for an EDA i6 project entitled, “Smart Cities Accelerator Leading Entrepreneurship through Urban Partnerships (SCALE UP).”
Dr. Marcus Mauldin (Political Science & Public Service) and Mr. Darrell Walsh (Social, Cultural, and Justice Studies) have requested $82,515 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the project entitled, “Evaluating Transit Equity and Accessibility to Affordable Housing in Tennessee.”
Dr. Mbakisya Onyango (Civil and Chemical Engineering), Ms. Rosebelle Peters (School of Nursing) and Dr. Jennifer Ellis (School of Education) have requested $124,998 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the project entitled, “Opioid Crisis and Transportation Investments in Tennessee.”

Soubantika Palchoudhury and Michael Danquah (Civil and Chemical Engineering) have requested $199,891 from the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the project entitled, “Evaluation of an Integrated Nanophotocatalytic and Bioremediation Approach with Rain Barrels as A Green Infrastructure for Storm Water Management.”
Drs. Donald Reising, Thomas Loveless (Electrical Engineering), and Mina Sartipi (CUIP) have submitted a white paper to the Army Research Office for the project entitled, “Securing the Internet-of-Things using Specific Emitter Identification.”

Mr. Takeo Suzuki (International Education) and Ms. Michelle Rigler (Counseling Center) have requested $24,826 from the U.S. Department of State for the project entitled, “Building Bridges Beyond Disabilities.”
