UTC offers a convenient and branded link-shortening tool through go.utc.edu. It even includes a custom QR code generator—featuring UTC’s Power C logo right in the center—for seamless integration into print and digital media.
How It Works
Short URL
- Simply navigate to go.utc.edu and enter the destination URL in the “Paste URL, Shorten and Share” field.
- If you want an automatically generated short code, click “Shorten”.
- If you want to generate a concise link that begins with
go.utc.edu/
, followed by a unique identifier, click “Customize Link” and enter your preferred link in the “Custom URL” field, then click on “Shorten”. For example, if you’re promoting the “Chattanooga Connect 2024” event, you might create a link like go.utc.edu/chattanooga-connect that redirects to the full event page. University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
QR Code
- To create a QR Code, first create a short url.
- Click on “Manage My Links” below the white box.
- Find your link by its short name or your UTCID under “username”.
- Click on the QR code icon under “Actions”. Your QR code will open in a separate window.
- Drag that image to your desktop or wherever you want it on your computer and begin using it in your applications.
Example: Promoting an Event
Let’s say you’re promoting Welcome Week 2025. Instead of using a long registration URL like:
https://www.utc.edu/enrollment/student-events/welcome-week-2025/schedule
You can shorten and brand it as:
go.utc.edu/welcomeweek
And pair it with a stylish QR code branded with UTC’s Power C—perfect for posters, flyers, social media graphics, and more!
