This Fall, Lupton Library is happy to have a feast of new technologies for students, faculty, and staff to enjoy. We will have a few new items that are able to be checked out and used for the creation of media, including Canon digital cameras and the Flip digital video recorder. Students who want to be able to create or capture video or still photos can check these out from the circulation desk in the library.
Also new to the library this Fall are iPod Touches, which will be used for library instruction. We will be expanding the role they have over the course of the semester, so keep your eyes on the library webpage and we’ll let you know when we’re able to use them to share music and videos from the library collection. If you have ideas for how these can be used, please let us know!
We’ve got some other technological tricks up our sleeves, including doubling the number of laptops we have available for checkout. We will also be launching new audio-visual stations sometime in September that will allow patrons to not only view all of our media, but capture parts of them for use in classes and projects.
We hope that students, faculty and staff find the new technology useful! If you have any feedback on these, feel free to contact our Head of Library IT, Jason Griffey, at Jason-griffey@utc.edu.
