As I was zipping through our processing area last week, it dawned on me that we have a lot of odd stuff lying around. That is, of course, a real understatement to those of you familiar with archives. The particular odd things I’m referring to are some of our “tools of the trade”. We fondly refer to many of these tools by non-technical names: the “prison shank“, “that thing that slings water around“, the “branding iron“– you get the picture. This post is an homage to a few of our odd little tools and the invaluable services they render to our humble operation.
