When you think of a library, what is the first word that comes to mind? Many people would answer with the word “books.” While Lupton Library has plenty of books to suit both educational and recreational reading, we also have several other types of circulating items you may wish to check out (literally and figuratively). Perhaps you are already familiar with the first of these items: laptops. Always popular with students who like to complete assignments untethered to a desk, Lupton Library has a collection of 60 circulating laptops available for in-library use. A laptop may be checked out for three hours at a time.
Even if you have already discovered our convenient laptops, you might be surprised to learn about our other offerings. A voice recorder, available for a three day check out period, could make that lecture a little easier to review. Need a Flip video camera for a class project? Want to take pictures to share with friends back home? You can capture three days worth of memories and assignments after a quick camera check out at the circulation desk. Finally, if you have ever been curious to see an e-reader in action, we have two Kindles available for week-long check out periods. Shakespeare never seemed so tech savvy.
As always, please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions related to library policies or available items. We are here to help! – Lindsey Solomon, Circulation and Electronic Resources Specialist
