Take a study break and win fabulous prizes! The library has your chance to win an iPod Touch or Barnes & Noble gift cards good at the UTC bookstore or any BN outlet.
Library Survey
Each year the library conducts a campus survey to generate feedback on how we’re doing and how we can improve our services. Whether you’re a student, staff, or faculty we want to understand your needs. Of course, we know that everyone is busy this time of year and that we need to sweeten the deal. That’s why when you take the Library Survey, you will be registered to win a new iPod Touch. For five minutes of your time, it’s worth your while. Help us help you and maybe win a great prize.
Library Haiku Contest
Did you forget? April is National Poetry Month, y’all! Here at the library, we’re celebrating with a Haiku Contest. For those of you who think we’re speaking Japanese … well … we are. Japanese haiku poems are restricted to a limited amount of verbal sounds. In English, we translate this to syllables and haiku typically contain three lines: the first line contains five syllables, the second line contains seven syllables, and the third line again contains five syllables. Here’s an example from our own Caitlin Shanley:

If the books don’t nab you, the
elevator might.
Give it a try! Between now and April 30, grab an entry form from either of the first floor service desks, turn it in at the Information Desk, and we’ll award Barnes & Noble gift cards to our three favorites.
