Though I realize that these questions were status quo for the time period, my modern sensibilities were mortally offended at some of the questions.
An enormous amount of these job applicant files (without the redactions we have made so that you can see an example) have turned up in some materials deposited with us and all of them are being destroyed. Why? Steve explains: “Archives normally keep records of continuing value and information, but occasionally items end up here that are not necessary to retain. Since these sometimes contain information considered “sensitive” today (social security numbers, for instance) we take careful measures to ensure they are destroyed.”
