As promised, we are continuing our trend of updating you, our esteemed patrons, on new super-cool stuff we’ve gotten lately. Here is a sampling of the recent goods:
Franklin and Winston: A Christmas that Changed the World
FDR & Churchill-neither are really the first jolly round man I think of at the holidays, but that’s just me. Nevertheless, this is a grand little book that tells of Churchill’s pivotal visit at the White House in December of 1941 at the height of World War II. It is beautifully illustrated and signed by our good friend, Barry Moser.
Onward Southern Soldiers: Religion and the Army of Tennessee in the Civil War
Onward Southern Soldiers is a must have for any Civil War scholar worth his/her salt. This book explores the role of religion in the lives of soldiers in the Army of Tennessee during the war. Well researched and with a wealth of images, this volume was written by Traci Nichols-Belt with her husband, Gordon Belt (an alumnus of UTC).
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
And last but not least, is a really spiffy copy of Pennyroyal Press’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. This fully illustrated, extremely rare version comes with a separate set of prints from the book.
