Election Day is sneaking up on us like that creepy dude with a butcher knife behind you (j/k). Are you ready? If you are a resident of Hamilton County and registered to vote, check out the Hamilton County Election Commission’s website for all of your need-to-know questions including where to vote on the big day, where and how to early vote, and what materials you need to bring with you for identification.
If you don’t live in Hamilton County, you will probably have to go home (where you are registered) to vote. In order to vote absentee, you must request a ballot no later than 7 days before the election (tick tock, tick tock). Information on absentee voting in the state of Tennessee is available on the Secretary of State’s website. Note: You must already be registered in order to vote. You cannot register between now & the election on Tuesday.
In honor of Election Day, your friendly university library is providing a little levity to accompany the political process. Visit our reference desk for some FREE, hot-off-the-press buttons touting our top fictional picks for the big seat in 2012. Get ’em while they last! While you’re here, take a gander at our Special Collections exhibit Campaign and Presidential Memorabilia, or visit the virtual component of the exhibit in our digital collections.
