3D printing has recently captured national attention. You may have heard President Obama mention it in his State of the Union address, or caught the technology when it was highlighted in CBS This Morning‘s feature last week (ahem, just days after reporting on Chattanooga’s gig internet service), or seen any number of mentions elsewhere in the press. All of which is why we’re excited to introduce our own bit of 3D printing tech for the library: a MakerBot Replicator!
We will unveil our Replicator this Saturday, March 16 as part of the Maker Day: Thinking in 3D event at the Chattanooga Public Library’s 4th Floor. Organized by the Public Library, CO.LAB, and Chatt*Lab, this is the first event of its kind in Chattanooga and we will be joining several departments from UTC as well as players from the industrial sector such as NovaCopy and the Chattanooga Regional Manufacturing Association. Stop by to see a multitude of 3D printers in action, check out 3D scanning and design technology, hear presentations on 3D printing and the maker movement, get to know the exhibitors, and more. All event details are available at the CHA Makers website.
Stay tuned for more info on how we will be making the Replicator available to the public following the Maker Day event.
