UTC Library’s Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad) and Purchase Request services have been consolidated into a new form called “Make a Request.” This consolidation and rebranding will centralize all of your requested materials, providing a streamlined process for accessing materials the UTC Library does not own. This service will allow you to request and track your ILL items and purchase requests using the same UTC Library Account that you use to manage all other UTC Library items. Notifications for books that have arrived from other libraries will look identical to the notifications that you receive when UTC Library holds are available for pickup. Articles and book chapters delivered from other libraries will also appear in your UTC Library Account when they are available for download.
The blank “Make a Request” form is accessible here, as well as from the header of the library catalog.
The “Make a Request” form is also accessible when browsing the catalog for materials the library doesn’t already have access to and replaces the “Borrow from another library” button.
For our other databases, including Worldcat, clicking the “Get It @ UTC” button will directly connect you to the new “Make a Request” form as well.
Even though your requesting experience has changed, please know that we are still utilizing the same back-end services that bring articles, book chapters, and print books from other libraries that we have always used.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding this change via e-mail at ill@utc.edu
Thank you for using the UTC Library!
