Libraries across UT System streamline direct borrowing.
Students, faculty, and staff at University of Tennessee campuses across the state will find it easier to borrow library materials when visiting sister campuses. No special borrower’s card required! Now, the ID card issued by the library user’s home institution is sufficient to borrow library materials at any campus in the UT System.
To check out materials, current UT students, faculty, and staff need only present their ID cards at the library circulation desk. Library staff will verify the user’s UT affiliation and create a local patron record. Visiting users will enjoy the same borrowing privileges and loan periods as local users, with a few exceptions (for example, no equipment will be loaned).
The new, streamlined borrowing procedures are being introduced at each University of Tennessee campus, effective Fall 2009:
• University of Tennessee, Chattanooga
• University of Tennessee, Knoxville
• University of Tennessee at Martin
• Health Science Center in Memphis
• Space Institute, Tullahoma
Visiting library users from Tennessee Board of Regents schools that have established agreements with a UT library will continue to enjoy borrowing privileges by obtaining a courtesy borrower’s card.
