UTC is about to begin its 124th year, and 2011 will mark our 125th anniversary. In anticipation of that, and the upcoming school year, we are providing a look to the past, when the original building, Old Main, still stood. Look carefully and you can see how the recently built Founder’s Hall and Hooper Hall are crowding it. Old Main, opened in 1886 as Chattanooga University, was razed in 1917. This photograph may very well have been the last photo taken of it.
