Greetings, faculty!
Please see the list of announcements and new funding opportunities.
Announcements and Reminders
- ORSP Role Changes: ORSP has restructured to better reflect the needs of the campus and changing environment of research administration. I am so pleased to announce that Angie Morelock will serve as the Director of Award Services, and Ashley Ledford has accepted the role of Director of Pre-Award Services. These well-deserved promotions of dedicated staff members position ORSP and UTC to build on our strengths and meet the challenges of the future! Please join me in congratulating Angie and Ashley on their new roles!
- SciENcv: With more federal agencies requiring or encouraging the use of SciENcv to prepare personnel documentation, ORSP is here to help! Visit our webpage here for registration and use guides and links to external webinars and help guides. Please note that NSF will require the use of SciENcv beginning in October 2023.
- Off-Campus Research: Several solicitations from the NSF Directorates for Biological Sciences (BIO) and Geological Sciences (GEO) will soon require the submission of a 2-page Safe and Inclusive Work Environments Plan. If you currently or plan to apply to NSF and will be conducting any research activities off campus, this new requirement will apply to you. Consider registering for the upcoming Virtual Office Hour on March 20, 2023 from 3 – 4 PM ET. Program Officers from BIO and GEO will provide an overview of the new requirement and take your questions and comments. Register for the webinar HERE.

Sponsored Projects Policy Spotlight
Welcome to a new segment of the ORSP Updates and Grant Opportunities bulletin, where we’ll spotlight the UT Policies that govern sponsored projects.
First up: Sponsored Projects Policy FI0205 lays out the general policies for defining what a sponsored project is, the responsibilities and obligations of each key unit, and what the grant process should look like. Ever wonder what the difference is between a “grant” and “contract” and why only authorized personnel can sign them? It’s all in this policy!
