CHATTANOOGA, Tenn (UTC) —Former two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Allen Iverson has joined another team —his third in two seasons— after the Memphis Grizzlies agreed in principle to sign the 34 year old Iverson.
Iverson announced his decision via twitter —a growing trend in the world of professional sports— before the Grizzlies front office was able to make it official. “God Chose Memphis as the place that I will continue my career,” Iverson tweeted on Wednesday.
Iverson has averaged 27.1 points per game in his NBA career, and will be a big-name attraction for a struggling franchise that finished 24-58 last season.
