CECS Tau Beta Pi Chapter Sponsors Science Fair Workshop

On February 17, members of the College’s Tau Beta Pi Chapter spent their Saturday morning assisting area high school students with their science projects.  With sponsorship from UTC’s STEM Education Program and the program’s coordinator Dr. Jennifer Ellis, the Tau Beta Pi students provided hands on help in a variety of areas including research, display construction, and presentation communication. CECS Scholarship Celebrates the Life and Service of James W. Rogers

Dr. Abdul Ofoli, UC Foundation Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering

Dr. Abdul Ofoli joined the CECS faculty in 2010 following several years of field experience as a senior controls engineer with Cummins, Inc.  While at Cummins he received four patents for developing virtual sensors and control algorithms for diesel automotive applications designed to meet EPA emission standards. CECS Rocket MOCS Rank Third in National Competition

In the inaugural “launch” of the CECS Rocket Team,  aka the Rocket MOCS, placed third in the nation in the University Student Rocketry Challenge. Baylor School Students and CECS Faculty Explore Ways to Eradicate Malaria

CECS High School Open House Saturday, February 24 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

  Saturday, February 24th – in connection with the national and community wide observance of Engineers Week – the College of Engineering and Computer Science will wrap up the week with an Open House for area high school students, educators and parents.  The Open House is free with registration required.  It will feature tours of the College’s labs, hands-on project demonstrations in each of the College’s academic disciplines, information
