The University’s Vice Chancellor of Research announced that Dr. Sartipi, UC Foundation Professor of Computer Science, is the lead for the University’s Smart Cities and Urban Science and Technology initiatives. In that role, she reaches out to faculty across UTC to build teams that can partner with agencies in the City of Chattanooga, and with peer researchers at other institutions to address smart city challenges and to expand UTC’s research and development portfolio and educational activities in this important area.
Dr. Sartipi earned her PhD at Georgia Tech in 2006, and joined the College in the fall of that year. Her research interests are in the area of communication and data science, in particular advanced wireless communication and data analysis for smart healthcare and urban futures.
