Dr. Mendenhall presented a seminar at the 2015 Tennessee SHRM Conference Meeting, entitled: “The Need for Global Leadership in Your Company,” at Chattanooga, TN on October 8, 2015.
Dr. Mendenhall gave a keynote speech at the 2015 Fall Immersion Weekend at Indiana Tech, entitled: “The Past 5 Years in Global Leadership Research: “Where have we come from, where are we now, and where are we going?” on Friday, October 2, 2015.
A paper that Dr. Mendenhall co-authored, “Measuring global leader intercultural competency: Development and validation of the Global Competencies Inventory (GCI)” and that was published in Advances in Global Leadership was selected as an Outstanding Author Contribution in the 2015 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence. On April 21st and April 28th Dr. Mendenhall presented seminars to the managers and staff at the Tennessee Aquarium on the topic: “The Key Drivers of Leadership.”
On April 23, Dr. Mendenhall, along with Dr. Kathleen Wheatley, Dr. Lisa Burke-Smalley, and Elizabeth Bell from the UTC College of Business gave presentations to the International Business Council at the Business Development Center (Incubator). They provided the attendees with an overview of the UTC College of Business graduate programs, international study programs, HR certification program, and how international business skills are developed in students at UTC.
Dr. Mendenhall and Steve McCloud conducted a day long seminar on leadership decision-making at Chickamauga Battlefield with the members of the UTC College of Business Executive Education Program. For more information about the battlefield seminar click here
Dr. Mendenhall taught the inaugural class of the UTC College of Business Executive Education Program on February 25th, and followed up with a second session on March 12. The program is made up of executives from Chattanooga and North Georgia-based companies who attend one day-long class each month. Dr. Mendenhall kicked off the program with sessions that focused on enhancing leadership skills. Subsequent classes will focus on a variety of business issues.
