New semester means a routine safety and security communication preparedness test. The University will conduct a test of the UTC-ALERT system on Thursday morning, September 3rd. This will result in a test message being issued via email, text, Canvas platform, Alertus Beacons in campus buildings, the University website and the official Twitter and Facebook University of Tennessee at Chattanooga social media accounts.

If you have opted to provide a cell phone number so that you will receive emergency alerts via this system, you should also receive the text message on Thursday, Sept. 3.

If you have not yet provided a cell phone number to receive text messages but would like to, you can register your contact information by visiting utc.edu/alert. On the same site, you can about the previously mentioned technologies used in a emergency situation on campus.

For answers to questions not addressed on the UTC-ALERT frequently asked questions webpage, you can email us via safety@utc.edu
