On Tuesday, October 24th local high school students traveled to UTC’s campus to learn about the professional world of accounting. This event was organized by the Tennessee Society of CPAs (TSCPA).
Many businesses were represented by accounting professionals including First Volunteer Bank, BlueCross BlueShield of TN, Elliott Davis Decosimo, Patten and Patten, Inc., UTC College of Business, Career Lane, LLC, and the Tennessee Titans. Topics covered throughout the day included: Accountant vs. CPA, Types & Tracks in the Profession; Why an Accounting Major Makes Sense; and Preparing for College and the Real World.
