The UTC College of Business hosted its annual Student Pitch Competition on Wednesday, March 28. The competition gives contestants the chance to pitch their business ideas to a panel of expert judges within a 90-second time frame. This year’s competition included two different competition tracks: traditional ventures and social innovation ventures (organizations that address social problems using business).
This year’s pitch competition winners included:
Traditional Track
1st Place: Grace McPherson – DressHer
2nd Place: Hiroshi Yanagida – Sense the Future
3rd Place: William Kelly – Book Meets
Social Innovation Track
1st Place: Christina Maximos – Maximos Naturals
2nd Place: Katelyn Worley – Home Grown Fabrics
3rd Place: Adam Hixson – Hixson Enterprises Inc.
The continued success of the student pitch competition is a testament to the quality teaching and support from the Entrepreneurship Faculty at UTC as well as the business support from the Chattanooga Entrepreneurship community.
