College can be costly—and for business students, finding financial support can make a difference not just in staying enrolled, but in being able to focus on your studies, internships and career goals. That’s where scholarships from the Gary W. Rollins College of Business come in.
Below, you’ll find what RCOB offers, who’s eligible, how to apply and tips to improve your chances of being selected.
What are the RCOB scholarships?
Thanks to generous donors, the Rollins College of Business offers multiple scholarships exclusively for business students. These awards are designed to invest in our students’ academic journeys.
The college uses a single application portal where eligible business students can apply for all the scholarships they’re eligible for. That’s right – your single application is considered for any scholarship you meet the requirements for.
Who’s eligible?
Students must meet the following criteria to be considered for general RCOB scholarships.
- Be enrolled full-time as a business major at the Gary W. Rollins College of Business. For undergraduates, that’s at least 12 credit hours per semester.
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75.
You may also be considered for major-specific scholarships depending on your field of study.
How to apply
Applications are open Oct. 1, 2025 – Jan. 30, 2026. Award notifications will be sent near the end of spring semester and will apply to the following fall semester.

- Honors, awards, work experience or internships
- Extracurricular activities
- A short essay

- Provide your electronic signature
- Submit the application
- After submission: Upload your resume
- Go to “Application Summary” to upload your resume.
- Monitor application status via the portal
Tips to make your application stand out
Lots of students will apply, so putting in extra effort helps. Here are strategies to boost your chances:
- Polish your resume. Adding your resume is an easy and essential way to draw attention to your application. Even small details like formatting, spelling, clear structure and strong action verbs make a difference.
- Tell your story in the essay. Go beyond your grades—discuss challenges you’ve overcome, leadership experiences or how you plan to use your business degree to impact your community.
- Show consistency. Share if you’ve maintained steady involvement in clubs or internships. Highlight growth and responsibility.
- Quantify impact. Rather than saying “I volunteered,” say “I organized 5 fundraisers raising $2,000 for X cause.”
- Stay on deadline. Missing the deadline disqualifies you immediately.
The RCOB scholarships at UTC represent a big opportunity—especially for students who are serious about making their mark in business. If you’re a business undergraduate or planning to major in a business discipline, make sure RCOB’s scholarship deadline is on your radar.
Draft your materials early. Ask mentors to review your essay. And most importantly—apply!
