Chattanooga, Tenn. (June 6, 2023) – The Sales Institute in the Gary W. Rollins College of Business recently announced a partnership with Axle Logistics, a third-party logistics firm headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn., with a growing office in Chattanooga. As the first “Gold Level” Corporate Partner of the Sales Institute, Axle Logistics will provide financial and program support to UTC’s sales program and the program’s students.
About the Sales Institute
The Sales Institute in the UTC Rollins College of Business is a rapidly growing program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the sales profession. The Corporate Partners program, which is comprised of just 18 select companies, connects those companies to students, allowing the companies to provide mentoring and support.
Christopher R. Plouffe, Managing Director of the Sales Institute at UTC, and Gary W. Rollins Endowed Chair and Professor of Sales, said that the decision to partner with Axle Logistics was a result of a year-long vetting process of multiple 3PL firms.
“Axle Logistics is an ideal choice as our sole 3PL corporate partner because of the strong match between their business and professional values and culture and ours, and also because they have a local presence here in Chattanooga with their growing office on Cherry Street,” Plouffe said.
Starting Fall 2023, Axle’s sales, business development, and HR personnel will provide mentoring and training to sales students at UTC through numerous opportunities, including job shadows, classroom guest lectures, and more.
Ali Fraley, Axle Logistics Vice-President of Learning & Development, said that Axle is, “delighted” to join the Sales Institute as the first of five Gold Level Corporate Partners and that the company looks forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.
The Sales Institute at the UTC Rollins College of Business, which launched in 2022, will have 18 Corporate Partners across three Membership/Sponsorship Levels. One-third of the positions in the Sales Institute’s Corporate Partners group are now sold to leading firms in industries such as insurance, logistics, healthcare and benefits, media, and security.
