I have always wanted to study abroad after my cousin did a few years back in Prague. She told me all about these amazing people, food, places, and cultures she got to explore. I chose Valencia, Spain partly because it was one of the only places we could choose due to COVID. It ended up being a beautiful place to go and the people could not have be better.
The first place I visited was Mallorca, Spain. It is an island off the coast of Spain. It is considered a party island and it was. It was one of our classmates’ birthday so her parents bought us an air bnb. It was located in the downtown area and it looked a little sketchy. We decided to get a hotel for the next nights on the beach. It might have been one of our best ideas. The hotel was very nice and was not expensive. We spent our first day cliff jumping. The water was crystal clear and you could see the coral. The place was like a dream. We did a few cliff jumps, free climbs, and ended with jumping off a zipline. The next 2 days we spend the days at the beach and the nights at an Irish Pub. We met so many people from northern Europe. Mallorca was their version of Florida.
The second place was my favorite. We went to Santorini, Greece and we got lucky again. One of the guys’ parents bought an air bnb a couple months back for a honeymoon but they gave it to us instead. To this day I think Santorini was a dream. We stayed at one of the white houses on the side of the island where the celebrities go. The people where the nicest by far. The first day we decided to rent a catamaran. We sailed around the island stopping at cool places, snorkeling, jumping, and they served us food. It was the best part about the trip. The rest of the days we explored the island trying to take in the views.
The third trip was Seville then Barcelona. We went to Seville for a football match. It was Spain vs Slovakia. Sadly, our tickets did not work out so we decided to explore the city. Seville is a beautiful place. The next morning, we went to Barcelona. It was a very cool place with scenic buildings, great people, amazing nightlife, and cool beaches.
The last place we visited was Prague. We wanted to go to this place sooner, but COVID had too many restrictions our first month. This place was like Disneyland. All the building looked amazing, the roads where all cobblestone, and the food was awesome. The first day we explored the cathedrals and old buildings. It was breathtaking. That night we made a reservation to the oldest bar there. It opened in the 1300’s. It was a dinner with a show. They served us traditional food and they did tricks like blowing flames out of their mouth.
