Zach Wamp, Former U.S. Congressman, will deliver the spring commencement address to more than 1,000 UTC graduates on Saturday, May 7 at 10 a.m. in the UTC McKenzie Arena. The event will be streamed live online, available at this link on the day of the ceremony.

UTC celebrates Earth Day
In honor of Earth Day, the student environmental planning group Ecological Decisions for a Global Environment (EDGE) hosted a day of events including a bake and plant sale, vendor fair, and showings of movies Wall-E, Disney’s Earth, and Avatar.
UTC opposes guns on campus bill
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga administration joins higher education leaders across the state in opposing a bill that would allow more people to carry guns on campus, contributing to unsafe conditions for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
UTC elects new student government leaders
The new leaders of the UTC Student Government have big plans for the organization, starting with emphasizing communication and campus involvement. Shalin Shah, Bradley Bell, and Emily Neutens were recently elected by their peers and will serve for the 2011-2012 school year.

Dr. Benjamin Gross celebrated the renovation of Grote Hall and the 125th anniversary of the University by providing a pictorial history presentation at the 23rd Annual Department of Chemistry Awards Banquet. “Chemistry is part of that history,” Gross said. “There is much to celebrate in our heritage and performance.”
