You might be away from home, and from mom pestering you to get that annual flu shot, but UTC has your back when you’re not feeling well.

Student Health Services (SHS) has partnered with Physical Therapy (PT) and Health and Human Performance (HHP) to offer new health options. PT assessments and care are now available by appointment on Tuesdays 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and Thursdays 1 – 5 p.m. In partnership with HHP, SHS will now offer nutrition counseling by appointment on Mondays 2 – 5 p.m.

SHS  is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. in room 205 of Maclellan Gym (the entrance is directly across from the UC). Scheduling an appointment is strongly encouraged, though SHS will take walk-ins based on availability.

Services include visits for physical exams, screenings, immunizations, lab services, acute and chronic illnesses, Well-Woman exams, TB skin testing, and allergy shots. Peruse the SHS website for a more thorough list of services.

SHS is staffed by nurse practitioners and provides primary health services to students, faculty and staff.  Students will not be charged for office visits, and will incur minimal charges for services such as laboratory tests and immunizations.

January 30 is the last day to purchase student health insurance for the Spring semester. Plans include options for a student’s spouse and/or children. Visit the website for more information.
