Students mingled with community members and professional communicators at Photo Night on Wednesday, March 7. The annual event highlights the work of regional photographers and gives students a behind-the-scenes look at the work behind the photo.
Austin Perryman, student athletics photographer for the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, was one of the artists featured at the event. Addressing the crowd, Perryman said, “Photojournalism is more than taking photos of things that are happening. Good photojournalism involves being intentional, being deliberate and being a little artistic all while simultaneously telling a story.”
