The College of Business at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is pleased to announce that Michael L. Owens has been appointed Assistant Dean, said Dr. Richard Casavant, dean of the college. Owens is responsible for guiding and managing the College’s graduate programs– the MBA, the EMBA, and the Master of Accountancy.
Owens recently returned to Chattanooga after a distinguished 30-year business career. He served with one of the big four accounting firms; was CFO and COO of a major insurance company; and most recently served as president of Coverdell & Company, Inc., an Atlanta based marketing company.
“Mike Owens brings the knowledge gained through a notable business career. He brings a passion to contribute to the growth and development of Chattanooga. We are, indeed, fortunate to have attracted him to the College of Business,” Casavant said.
Owens received the MBA from Loyola College of Maryland and he earned the Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
