In spring semester 2011, years of preparation and hard work culminated in the 10-year review and site visit to UTC from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). This reaffirmation process is a milestone for every college and university in the southern region. UTC was reviewed for its academic and fiscal health, vitality, and service to students and community.
“We received official word that SACS has reaffirmed our accreditation for the next decade. We now are approved to implement the “Think: Achieve” Quality Enhancement Plan and to document the growth of our students’ critical thinking skills,” said Chancellor Roger Brown.
Most faculty and staff on campus participated in some phase of SACS planning, report-writing, or hosting of the visiting team of peer reviewers.
“This SACS review required a tremendous effort from many, many individuals. I want to thank especially our outstanding Steering Committee for their countless hours of work,” Brown said.
That committee included:

- Linda Johnston, QEP chair
