UTC men’s and women’s basketball teams will welcome fans to McKenzie Arena for a double-header BLACKOUT on Saturday, February 11.
Saturday’s BLACKOUT begins with the Lady Mocs hosting the College of Charleston at 5 p.m. and the men taking on UNC Greensboro at 7:30 p.m. UTC will handout 1,500 official BLACKOUT T-shirts prior to the Lady Mocs game and another 2,500 BLACKOUT shirts before the men’s game. In addition, 4,000 black pom-poms will be distributed to fill the lower bowl.
The SoCon Saturday ticket special is available for the double-header. Fans can purchase this deal for $8 for the women’s game and $10 for the men’s game. This includes lower level seating and a food voucher per ticket. General admission tickets can be purchased for just $4 in advance by using the promotional code “BLACKOUT” on GoMocs.com.
Saturday will also be UTC’s “Pack the House Challenge” for women’s basketball. The Lady Mocs will pit the attendance of this game up against selected games from other Southern Conference schools and programs across the country. The NCAA will award winners at the conference and national level based on attendance and the creativity of the promotion from this particular game.
Finally, Rone Regency Jewelers will give away a half-carat diamond on Saturday. A total of 1,000 imitation stones will be handed out prior to the men’s game. One of those is redeemable for a half-carat diamond valued at $3,000. Fans will have to take their imitation to Rone Regency Jewelers on 1950 Gunbarrell Road by March 11 to see if it is the winning rock.
