Mary Anne Grant (‘71), President and CEO of the International Student Exchange programs, will be honored as the 2012 Distinguished Alumna and James D. Kennedy, Jr., President of Kenco Group, will receive the 2012 Outstanding Service Award at the annual Legends & Leaders Dinner on Friday, May 4, at the Chattanooga Golf & Country Club.
UTC Alumni Board President Scott LeRoy will emcee the evening, and Chancellor Roger Brown will present the awards to the honorees.
Grant is employed by the world’s largest network of post-secondary institutions cooperating to provide affordable international educational experiences for a diverse student population.
She is a frequent speaker on international education and exchange, including the 2010 Outbound Mobility Forum of the International Education Association of Australia, the Association of international Education Administrators, and the Forum on Education Abroad. Grant received a master’s degree in art from Georgetown University.
Kennedy has been actively involved in University and civic organizations, serving as the Chairman of The University of Chattanooga Foundation and as the director and member of many community boards.
He is a member of the UTC College of Business Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, and has been a generous donor to the University for many years. Cadek Hall, the College of Business, and athletics are just a few of the campus beneficiaries of Kennedy’s generosity.
