During his visit to Chattanooga for the Southern Growth Policies Board, Governor Bill Haslam met with administrators and faculty at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to discuss the campus’ unique access mission, opportunity for growth, and contributions to statewide and regional workforce development. The Governor plans to hold a series of statewide discussions regarding higher education reform in Tennessee.
The group discussed UTC’s mission as a metropolitan university committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service. UTC is dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of the region with community involvement and strategic partnerships, including corporations such as Volkswagen Chattanooga.
UTC leaders offered a look at several campus programs available to help the state graduate more students, including the “Degree in Three” program and the newly approved Bachelor of Integrated Studies. Read more…
