UTC joined a national movement and engaged students in the first Campus Sustainability Days, held October 24-26. Two hundred attendees participated in this successful series of events.
Events included a vendor fair, pumpkin carving, film screenings, and Weigh the Waste where attendants learned just how much food gets thrown out at Crossroads.
Alpha Lambda Delta and Phi Eta Sigma Honor Societies also participated by providing a Recycle Bin Delivery. Look for new bins in these areas:
· Hooper – 2nd Floor
· 545 Oak Street
· Founders Hall – University Relations
· Holt Hall – 2nd/3rd floors
· Fine Arts Center – 3rd/4th floors
· Fletcher – 3rd floor
· Grote Hall – 3rd/4th floors
Lisa Darger, Sustainability Coordinator, appreciates the work of everyone who participated in Sustainability Days events. She encourages everyone to use the new recycle bins and to only take food on your plate that you will consume.
“Thank you for reducing the amount of waste UTC pays to take to the landfill,” Darger said.
