The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga’s Get Healthy Project grant is hosting its first annual conference entitled “Exploring the Mental and Physical Health Needs of the Severe and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) Population in an Integrated Care Setting” on Saturday, April 6, 7:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The conference will be held at the UTC University Center and will feature speakers from the Yale School of Medicine, Hogg Foundation for Mental Health and BlueCross Blue Shield of Tennessee.
Attendees may register for one of two lecture tracks for this informative day. The first is the Integrated Healthcare Track, which features tips on how to effectively manage administrative challenges faced in the implementation of an integrated healthcare model. The second is the Mental Health First Aid Lecture Track, which includes topics on how to identify mental health needs of community members and first-aid tips for caregivers to help a person in a mental health crisis.

-Robert Cole, M.H.S.A., a Lecturer in Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine and Chief Operating Officer at The Connecticut Mental Health Center
-Meagan Longley, L.M.S.W., Mental Health Policy Fellow at the Hogg Foundation for Mental Health
-Ronald Morton, M.A., Director of Recovery and Resiliency at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee
-Jeanne Steiner, D.O., Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Yale School of Medicine and Medical Director of The Connecticut Mental Health Center

Professionals to administrators to frontline clinicians to mental health and primary caregivers will benefit from these courses. As an added bonus, the UTC Division of Continuing Education has approved the conference for 5.5 contact hours and 0.55 credit hours. Please note that CEU credits cost $10 and are included in the $35 cost option of the conference. However, the cost for the conference with breakfast and lunch included is $25.
