The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is the only Tennessee public institution selected as a 2013-2014 College of Distinction.
UTC earned this designation because it is strongly focused on the teaching of undergraduates, it is known for its innovative learning experiences, it is an active campus with various opportunities for personal development, and it is valued by employers for the outstanding preparation it offers students, according to the Colleges of Distinction website.
“It is nice to have outside recognition of the quality we know exists on our campus,” said Chuck Cantrell, UTC Associate Vice Chancellor, Communication and Marketing. “The College of Distinction designation recognizes the same attributes students and parents appreciate when they choose UTC.”
