As the temperature begins to drop, plan to warm up at the 5th Annual UTC Bonfire on Wednesday, November 6 at the former Chamberlain Field. This year’s event will be sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA). Students with a valid Mocs card can come at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy free refreshments and giveaways. The bonfire and pep rally will begin shortly after 7 p.m.
One of the newer and more popular traditions on campus, the bonfire has hosted hundreds of Mocs supporters in recent years.
For Chuck Cantrell, Associate Vice Chancellor of Communication and Marketing, and also an alumnus, the bonfire offers a great chance for students to come together and support Mocs athletics.
“Even though the event is only a few years old, a lot of students come and have a great time. It will be a great opportunity to support the football team as they make a push towards the playoffs, as well as the wrestling and basketball teams,” said Cantrell.
Join the UTC Band, cheerleaders, athletes and coaches as the campus rallies for the last home football game, as well as the season openers for the wrestling team and both the men’s and women’s basketball teams.
