Engineering Management & Technology faculty will offer information about the UTC Construction Management Program in a session on Wednesday, December 11, 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Maytag Conference Room in the Engineering, Math and Computer Science Building at the corner of Vine and Palmetto Streets.
“This session will provide an environment where either new or prospective students can gain a better understanding of the high market demand for this major and learn more about job placement and other opportunities,” said Neslihan Alp, Ph.D., P.E., UC Foundation Professor, Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs, and Research Engineering Management and Technology Department Head.
The B.S. in Engineering Technology Management (ETM) with the concentration in Construction Management will provide graduates with the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that are valued and sought by the construction industry both locally and regionally. The BS ETM program has recently been accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET)-Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) effective fall 2011.
A partnership including the UTC College of Engineering and Computer Science, Chattanooga State Community College, Cleveland State Community College, and Associated General Contractors (AGC) of East Tennessee established the degree program in fall 2008.
Students from Chattanooga State and Cleveland State community colleges may earn this degree by taking a 2+2 degree program, completing the last two years of coursework at UTC. The program requires 127 hours.
Associated General Contractors (AGC) of East Tennessee, http://www.agcetn.org, is the major sponsor of the Construction Management program.
