This year’s Homecoming was a ‘Mocbuster’ with a lot of fun events and a big football win. The Mocs beat the Virginia Military Institute Keydets 55-7. The Mocs had a season-high 555 yards of total offense while scoring the program’s most points since the 59-56 win over Appalachian State on October 30, 2004. The student vote for Homecoming Queen and Top Moc were announced. Tina Nguyen was named this year’s Homecoming Queen and Robert Fisher was voted Top Moc. To hear the announcement of the entire Homecoming Court, view the video below.
This year’s Homecoming events kicked off with Banner Painting where students painted large, colorful banners to hang on the sides of the University Center for the week.
Students enjoyed a night of fun as they “sang” and danced at the Lipsync competition. Delta Zeta took home the top prize for sororities, Chi Omega placed second, and Sigma Kappa placed third. Lambda Chi Alpha won first place for fraternities, Kappa Alpha Phi took home on second, and Pi Kappa Alpha, third.

Field Games returned with all the traditional events including Bed Races, Tug-of-War, and Trout Joust. View a video of all the fun below.
Students enjoyed Scrappy’s Band Fest at Chamberlain Pavilion as they listened to local bands and enjoyed carnival food and games.
Step Show did not disappoint this year as more than a dozen organizations competed for the top titles. Sigma Kappa took home first place for sororities, Kappa Delta placed second, and Chi Omega, third.
