UT President Joe DiPietro came to celebrate the progress of UT-Chattanooga’s fall sports teams with a pep rally themed luncheon for faculty and staff on Friday, November 7. Wearing a blue and gold bow tie, DiPietro expressed his love of the UTC campus.
He recalled his first visit to our campus as UT President four years ago, when he spoke at the newly opened Aquatics and Recreation Center (ARC).
During the 2010 visit, DiPietro promised to try the slide in the ARC pool if then-SGA President Bradley Bell would join him.
DiPietro fulfilled his promise, joking he had heard the water was cold because it was piped in from the Ocoee River.
As the UTC Marching Band played and a group of spectators watched, DiPietro and Bradley Bell, now Assistant Director, New Student and Family Programs, enjoyed the plunge into the lazy river.
