Mocs top 3.0 GPA for Spring 2014 semester
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Athletics Department hit a major benchmark for the first time following the 2014 spring semester. The Southern Appalachian Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) is a grant program funded by the U.S. Department of Education and does exactly what its name says—help bring educational opportunities to those who need assistance.
University receives TVA ‘Innovator of the Year’ award
The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga was recently honored with the ‘Innovator of the Year’ award at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Green Power Switch Leadership Awards. This award recognizes organizations that are dedicated to renewable power and energy efficiency.
Model ship dedication honors Dr. Gavin Townsend
Dr. Gavin Townsend, UTC Professor of Art History, was recently honored with the dedication of a model Viking ship. With a special research interest of American architectural history, Townsend has received the SGA Outstanding Professor Award, has served as Faculty Senate President, and also been on the Tennessee Historical Commission.

Justin Pohl in UTC Student Development offered me a challenging proposal: take a week away from UTC University Relations and join several faculty members to facilitate a LeaderShape Institute at Camp Lookout. Sleep in a cabin, grab food from the chow line, and help a group of UTC students figure out who they are, where they want to go, and how to get there from here.
