The ElderScholars will meet at the new UTC Library on Tuesday, February 10, at 1 p.m. in Room 209.
Following an introduction by members of the library staff in Room 209, self-guided tours will be available. Printed maps are located at the Circulation Desk. The map will have informational stop signs on it.
An audio version with headphones is also available for a guided tour. A third option is a YouTube link, to be accessed on a personal IPad or Smartphone. All participants will be moving at their own pace or may visit the areas they find interesting.
If a little caffeine is needed, Starbucks is adjacent to the new library.
ElderScholars are encouraged to enter the Library at the corner of Douglas and Vine Streets. Walk up the steps or walk around to the right side, where an elevator is available. Then walk around the right side to the doors that actually take you into the first floor of the library. There are inside elevators across from the circulation desk, and you may take one of those to the second floor (or walk up another flight of stairs). When the elevator door opens, walk straight ahead. Room 209 will be on your right, just past the Library Administration Office.
If you walk up from the University Center side of the building, a flight of stairs will bring you to the Chamberlain Field entrance. You will walk into the library on the first floor, right by the Circulation Desk. Just go past the Circulation Desk to get to the inside elevators and go up to the second floor.
ElderScholars Diane Reed and Ray Millard will be stationed at each entrance to offer assistance.
