At The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, student success is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing students with an extraordinary education at an affordable price. And we’re willing to be put the dollars behind our words by offering the new Achieve Award.
The Achieve Award is a one-time $750 award to help offset the costs of a college education. Eligible students will receive the award at the end of their freshmen year. To qualify, students must:
- Earn 30 hours during their freshmen year
- Remain in good academic and disciplinary standing
- Maintain Tennessee HOPE Scholarship eligibility
“We are very happy to be able to provide this additional financial award to our freshmen who choose UTC as their four-year university and then put in the effort necessary to achieve during their first year. This is just one more reason for students to choose UTC as their college home,” Lee Pierce, UTC Director of Undergraduate Admissions, said.
For more information about the Achieve Award, contact the Admissions Office at (423) 425-4662 or visit their website at http://www.utc.edu/admissions/.

How will we know if we have received this award? And if we must apply, where do we do this?
Thank you.
UTC Webmaster
Abigail, thanks for asking. This award applies to the incoming freshman class, Fall 2015. The Achieve Award is for students who choose to attend UTC, versus attending community college or technical school under the Tennessee Promise scholarship. It’s UTC’s way of saying “Thanks” to students who pay fees to attend our 4-year university, versus a free 2-year program.
